The Ministry of Culture announced that the Taiwan Cultural Centre in Paris is collaborating with Fondation Fiminco to select a Taiwan digital technology and new media artist for a 4-month residency program in FF, to assist Taiwan to expand its international cultural presence.

FF will provide the winner with an itinerary, coordinate meetings with French museum studies academics, artist collectors and critics, curators and media. Cultural tours will be organized for the winning artist to explore the French capital’s contemporary art institutions.

According to the MOC, TCCIP signed a letter of intent to showcase Taiwan art in France with FF in September 2023. The residency project, APOLAN, is named for an outlying Taitung County Lanyu Island flower to symbolize the blooming of Taiwan culture on a global stage.

Registration for the program is available until Feb. 29 French local time. The selection process consists of two phases, with the final result to be issued in April.

Fondation Fiminco, founded in 2017 by Groupe Fiminco, is a Paris-based body that promotes contemporary art and seeks to widen access to culture. (POC-E)
